On Saturday, August 11, heavy rains poured, flooding several areas in Metro Manila and Rizal. Several cities in Metro Manila have suspended classes due to heavy downpour and flooding in their areas.
Many people, about 2,500 individuals or 500 families were in the evacuation centers for their safety. The evacuees are using ‘modular tents.’
Several netizens have praised the local government of Marikina for providing these modular tents to serve as temporary shelter for families displaced by the severe flooding in the city.
The blue tents, which have given some privacy to families temporarily staying at the Bulelak gym in Marikina, are reportedly proof of taxes being put to good use.
Here are some of their comments: “Learning from the past, Marikina doing it right 💪 Please pray still for Marikina!!!
May space bawat pamilya because yung tent! Good job LGU of #Marikina. This is on you!”
